Laguna Beach Artist Cliff Wassmann's oil painting of the Washington Coast titled "Survivors" has been accepted info the National Top 100 Exhibition by PaintAmerica. The PaintAmerica Top100 is an annual juried competition and exhibition designed to illustrate American life. Representative art depicts the beauty and grandeur of American nature, landscape, seascape, cityscape, etc.

Wassmann's painting depicts a group of trees, that despite all odds, continue to live a precarious existence on top of an unusual rock outcropping along Washington's Olympic Peninsula."This piece symbolizes my feelings as I continue to try and survive as an artist during these difficult times. We just have to grab hold of something strong and continue to grow".

His painting along with the other 99 pieces chosen will be exhibited in a traveling show which begins on March 17, 2009 at the prestigious R. W . Norton Art Foundation Gallery of Shreveport, Louisiana. The R.W. Norton Art Gallery houses incomparable collections of American and European paintings, sculptures and decorative arts spanning more than four centuries. Since its opening in 1966, the museum has become particularly well-known around the country for its impressive collections of works by those titans of western art, Frederic Remington and Charles M. Russell.
