| 09/01/06 A spectacular new
image of the BrigPilgrim off Dana Point has been selected
for the 2006 Toshiba Tallships Festival. This marks the 8
the time Wassmann's photography has been used for the event
but according to Ocean Institute marketing dirctor Bentley
Cavazzi, 'This is the best yet!'
Shot at last light with the crew in the rigging, it evokes
memories of an earlier time, when tall ships were the only
way to transport goods across the seas. The Brig Pilgrim
was used to transport cow hides from the rancheros of Southern
California to ports back east. The vessel, a replica of the
orignally, is now used for classes during the school year.
Once a year, its volunteer crew gets to sail the waters of
Southern California for two weeks.
