The Magic Kingdom did, however, have an influence on Darcy's young life. Her father helped build the famous theme park, and next-door was an animator for Disney and Hanna Barbera. Nurtured in this creative environment, she began drawing at an early age, and by the time she was 5, Darcy could be found selling caricatures of her neighbors for a nickel each.
Today, selected pieces of Darcy's mixed-media works are available in art prints from such publishers as Figi Graphics, Leanin Tree Cards, and Leisure Arts. Her designs appear on greeting cards, coffee mugs, magnets, and crosstitch leaflets. This year she signed with Art in Motion, that will publish open editions, art cards and posters.
