to member sites that might otherwise not show up on search engines.
Our aim is provide quality hits for our member's sites.
In addition
we seek out and post links to services that we feel are useful for
artists.
Many database
portal sites expose viewers to your listings only when very specific
criteria are entered into their search engine. Often the only way
to find your entry in their site is to type your specific name in
the search engine.
If you are an
emerging artist or people don't know how to spell your name - your
listing will simply never be found! In addition, database driven
pages don't show up on search engines making your listing with sites
using that approach visible only to that site's own search engine.
At ArtSeek we
believe a directory structured site is more effective in providing
visibility. Many of our members are connected to buyers and visitors
because they "stumbled" on the artist's listing in the
ArtSeek directories while they were looking for something else.
An added benefit
is that our directory pages are indexed by the search engines. Sometimes
our directory pages rank higher in the search engines than the actually
artist's sites themselves!

over 5000 reciprocal links pointing back to ArtSeek we receive consistently
high traffic. Because of the benefit of this cooperative arrangement
with our members we have been able to keep the fee to list members
