Andra DuRee' Martin is a native Californian raised in the coastal communities of Santa Barbara and Santa Monica. She studied in California, New York and Germany. Her fascination with Glass Art began in Germany in 1981. There she discovered various techniques and processes that have been applied in the making of glass. She was particularly intrigued with glass fusion, a technique that was first created by the ancient Mesopotamians during the Roman era. This process has remained virtually unused until its resurgence in the 1970's.

With support from her husband, she left a 15 year career in corporate marketing, to pursue her artistic desires full time, hence DuRee? Design, Gourmet Glassware. She creates fun, usable art that reflects not only her personality and her sense of humor but her practical side as well. It has been said she's no Martha Stewart?. She is humorous, bright & appreciates the need to be practical at times! All of her work reflects these qualities. Enter Site
